Joasetbergi is part of the unstable Stampa mountain range in Sogn og Fjordane. It lies 800 metres up the mountainside east of Flåm, in the innermost part of the Aurlandsfjord, 125 km east of Bergen.
Stampa is one of the largest unstable rock formations in Norway with a volume of over 300 million m3.
The system consists of radar, various tension rods and a total station. The total station measures against a number of prisms and the measurements provide 3D movement with millimetre accuracy.
