Product overview

Strain gauges are sensors that measure mechanical deformation or stretch in materials. They register changes when the material is stretched. The sensors are used in automatic monitoring. They measure stress, strain or deformation in structures, machines and components. They play an important role in monitoring the condition and performance of structures such as bridges, buildings and in industrial applications to predict and prevent faults or failures in real time. Strain gauges are widely used in natural hazard projects as they can document movement between rock blocks.

Our tension rods with oscillating string (vw) technology are used to measure movement across cracks and transition zones in concrete, rock, soil and structures. The oscillating string output makes it possible to use the sensor together with automated measurement systems such as Cautus Logger.
