Product overview

Measurand SAAF (ShapeAccelArrayField) and SAAV are multi-joint deformation cables that measure 3D movement. The instrument can be installed horizontally or vertically, depending on whether you want to measure settlements or deformations along e.g. excavation slopes or sheet piling.

The instrument consists of either 305 or 500 mm long measuring segments, where the deformation is measured as angle changes between the segments. This is done using 3 MEMS accelerometers in each joint. The sensors can also measure vibration and temperature.

Most instruments are supplied on drums, in optional lengths up to. The deformation cable fits into a small (27-29 mm ID) tube, which simplifies installation and protects the cable.

  • SAAF is suitable for both horizontal and vertical deformation measurements with very high accuracy
  • SAAV is specifically designed for installation in existing inclinometer boreholes
  • Can also measure temperature and vibration
  • Software included and can be integrated into Cautus Web
