Julie’s main task when she takes up her post in November 2026 will be to accelerate the development of a shared culture and to merge Cautus Geo and Scanmatic into a single company.
“We’re lucky to have Julie on the team,” says Managing Director Atle Gerhardsen.
Cautus Geo acquired Scanmatic in May 2025. Since the turn of the year 2025/2026, the companies have had a joint management team. The merger is now entering a new phase.
– Julie will be taking the lead in building a shared culture. She will establish effective processes across the companies. We are delighted to have her on board, says Gerhardsen.
Aiming to bring culture together
Julie joins us from a similar role at Itera. There, she was responsible for HR matters relating to around 150 staff and managers across several offices in various locations around the country.
She holds a Master’s degree in Organisational Psychology and Management from BI. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Sales Management from Markedshøyskolen.
– We’re going to build and create something new. It’s really motivating. The companies are at an exciting stage. I’m looking forward to contributing to their continued growth, says Julie.
Her main task will be to bring the different groups together.
– HR is, first and foremost, about people. The most important thing at the start will be getting to know our colleagues and understanding the business. We’re going to take the best from both companies and create something together. It shouldn’t be «them and us», but «us», says Julie.
Close to the staff
The role is based in Lysaker. Julie, who is the group’s first Head of HR, will also be based in Arendal. “If not every week, then I’ll be there regularly,” says Julie.
Atle Gerhardsen divides his time between Lysaker and Arendal. He emphasises that the HR role will be extremely important going forward:
– “With Julie on board, we are taking an important step in the Group’s development. A strong HR function is crucial to the success of the integration, to building a shared culture and to ensuring that we are well-equipped for further growth,” says Atle Gerhardsen.
Julie’s first day at Cautus Geo is 1 November.
Cautus Geo and Scanmatic provide technology that is critical to society, including monitoring of natural hazards, the environment, infrastructure, renewable energy and defence. The companies monitor challenging environments using advanced sensors, control systems and in-house developed cloud solutions.
