What do we measure?

Home page What do we measure?

Cautus Geo offers a wide range of different types of measurements. We offer efficient and reliable solutions for measuring deformation, load, vibration, temperature, ground conditions, environmental parameters and traffic, adapted to different projects and needs.

Deformation and load measurement

  • Local deformation and strain: Local measurements at specific points or relatively between different parts of an object.
  • Average load: Measuring loads and changes over large parts of a structure using systems with many and continuous measuring points.
  • Load: Measurement of tensile loads and loads/forces between different parts of a structure.

Examples of products

Our load cells provide automatic and real-time measurement of anchor load, load development and structural health, with data available in Cautus Web

Our deformation tubes measure 3D movements with high accuracy, are installed horizontally or vertically, and deliver data via battery-powered data loggers.

Structural changes

  • Relative changes/crack measurements: Measurements over existing cracks to monitor changes.
  • Tilt: Accurate slope measurements in two axes for different points.
  • 3D changes: Measurement of 2D and 3D (North, East, Height) changes and movement of specific points on a structure.
  • Vibration: Vibration measurements to identify existing loads and changes over time, as well as to identify critical points and structural changes.

Examples of products

GNSS technology provides accurate positioning data for real-time motion monitoring, essential for safety and efficiency in various industries.

Our automatic total station provides millimetre-precise 3D measurements of movement over large areas, ideal for monitoring and construction projects.

Our deformation tubes measure 3D movements with high accuracy, are installed horizontally or vertically, and deliver data via battery-powered data loggers.

Environment and material condition

  • Temperature: Measuring temperature in steel and concrete.
  • Ground conditions: Monitoring of stability, pore pressure and water content in soil.
  • Environment: Monitoring of wind, air temperature, humidity, precipitation, water level and wave height.

Examples of products

Pore pressure gauges specifically designed for use in challenging Nordic climate and ground conditions.

Multiprobe for water quality that can measure up to 24 different parameters including temperature, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH and water depth.

Visual monitoring

  • Images: Real-time or periodic images and image analyses for better insight and documentation.

Examples of products

Our customised camera systems offer high-resolution timelapses, pan/tilt capabilities, and smart control, with data available in Cautus Web for efficient project monitoring.

Traffic monitoring

  • Traffic: Real-time traffic load information, including number of vehicles, size, speed and relevance to the structure's load.
