Electric bikes take over from cars in Oslo traffic

Cautus Geo takes climate, environment and sustainability seriously; now with electric bikes in the neighbourhoods of Oslo and Bærum.

The company has developed a wide range of sensor technology and a proprietary web solution, Cautus Web, for automatic and continuous collection, processing, analysis and notification based on data from various sources.

Many people think of natural hazards when Cautus Geo is mentioned, but the company is also experiencing strong growth in environmental monitoring.

- "That's where electric bikes come in handy. It's a sustainable, efficient and good alternative, especially on assignments such as the new E18 motorway, the Fornebubanen subway and other jobs in the surrounding areas of Oslo and Bærum," says CTO Lars Krangnes.

This summer, many people have followed Norwegian cycling heroes on the TV programmes from around France. At the same time, Cautus Geo employees have cycled around Oslo and Bærum on work assignments.

- With our electric bicycle and specially equipped trolley, we arrive quickly and efficiently to install, operate and maintain projects in Oslo and Bærum in an environmentally friendly and efficient way," says Krangnes.

He came up with the idea of an electric bike as a work tool some time ago. In early summer, the bike and trailer were fully equipped. Since then, it has travelled many kilometres on various assignments.

- The experiences are good. The bike contributes to a better working day and a better environment for everyone," says Emhjellen.
