On 1 September, the project "Continuous pesticide sensing in the environment", CoPs for short, started.
In the development project, we will develop a sensor and measurement system that automatically and continuously measures a number of different pesticides, reporting on the type of pesticide and concentration in real time. The system will be installed either in boreholes or on the surface, and will send observations via the mobile network to a central data server where all data will be available via a web system.
The metering system will change the way pesticides are monitored around the world and contribute to both increased safety for those who drink the water and a cost saving for the owner of the water source.
CoPs is a collaboration between 5 partners and consists of Cautus Geo, IPM, PalmSens, DFM and DTU Nanotech (Technical University of Denmark - Department of Micro- and Nanotechnology).
Further information about the project can also be found on the Eurostars-Eureka website (https://www.eurostars-eureka.eu/project/id/10621).
