Cautus Geo AS specialises in geomonitoring solutions; automatic monitoring of stability, deformation and the environment. Our activities cover all phases of monitoring projects, from early measurements and analyses to the installation and operation of complete automatic monitoring systems.

Many projects involve working close to or on a railway, often while trains are running on the tracks in the same area. So it's important to have good monitoring of the tracks to ensure that the activities you're doing don't affect neighbouring tracks.

Movements on railway tracks are caused by both natural and human factors. Track monitoring is about monitoring railway tracks to ensure that measurable movements such as settling and heaving are detected. These movements can be used to make calculations such as edge and twist.

The sensors we normally use to perform automatic track monitoring are inclinometers and tiltmeters, and we always adapt the instrumentation and automatic monitoring to the specific project.

Unfinished and poorly maintained dams can collapse. This can have enormous consequences in the form of damage to both buildings and people, and nature can be affected. Dam monitoring is therefore an important focus, and Cautus Geo has established automatic monitoring on a number of dams, both in Norway and abroad.

The technology and sensors we use to monitor dams include inclinometers, which provide very good accuracy in terms of deformation, and piezometers for measuring water pressure. All of this is connected to our Cautus Web software, which provides real-time data and alerts on what is happening at the dam.

Many buildings today consist of several buildings, built together over the years, where the oldest part may be several decades old. Cautus Geo has a long track record of monitoring buildings, where we install measuring instruments to monitor the building.

The monitoring will show if there are any movements and what might affect them.

Monitoring can, for example, show whether measures may be appropriate or whether the building is affected by possible changes in groundwater, precipitation, excavation work or other local conditions.
